The Beginning
When I was five years old, I was so weak and skinny that the doctors thought I might have leukemia. In desperation, my parents took me to a natural doctor named Dr. Wickenham who lived in a run-down trailer park. “Dr. Wicked Hand,” as my friends called him, discovered that I had serious food allergies. After changing my diet, my health was transformed. Before long, I was running with the other children and working alongside my father on our family farm.
In high school, I took up boxing until an injury nearly crippled my spine. I could barely walk for weeks, and several doctor’s visits brought little improvement. I began to wonder if I would ever fully recover. Then my mother took me to a chiropractor who treated my spine, muscles, and acupuncture points. The results were remarkable. Not only did I recover, but I felt better than I had before the injury.
Those two experiences changed the course of my life. They showed me that when the body is given the right support, it has an extraordinary capacity to heal. That realization sparked a lifelong passion for studying natural medicine and helping others experience the same hope and healing I had found.

The Journey
In my early 20s, my aging father put me in charge of our family farm. As my passion for all things natural continued to grow, I converted our operations to an organic, biodynamic farm.
At the same time, my interest in natural healing deepened. I read everything I could about nutrition, natural health, and wellness. One of the most influential moments during this time was hearing Dr. Paul Bragg speak. His passion, energy, and vitality completely changed my perception of what healthy aging could look like. Years later, I was astonished to learn that he reportedly passed away from injuries sustained in a surfing accident… in his 80s!
These were years of discovery. As I studied health more deeply, I began to recognize how many modern lifestyles and environmental factors were working against our well-being. It became clear to me that people needed a different approach, and I was determined to find it.
“We gained a reputation for helping people who had reached the end of their ropes, whose challenging symptoms had left other doctors scratching their heads. ‘Specializing in Difficult Cases’ became the tagline on our business cards.”
In 1975, I made the life-changing decision to step away from the family farm and pursue my career as a doctor. I went on to earn degrees as a Doctor of Chiropractic and Naturopathic Doctor, and in 1979, I opened a multi-practitioner natural health clinic. People drove from miles around to visit our clinic, located in the spacious home my father had built on our family farm. We gained a reputation for helping people who had reached the end of their ropes, whose challenging symptoms had left other doctors scratching their heads. “Specializing in Difficult Cases” became the tagline on our business cards. We were passionate about identifying and addressing the root causes of illness, rather than simply treating symptoms that often resurfaced in different forms. We also cared for animals, providing chiropractic adjustments and natural remedies for all types of animals.
Throughout my years in practice, we implemented a wide variety of natural healing techniques to help our patients. But nothing produced results quite like homeopathic medicine. Time and time again, I witnessed patients experience remarkable improvements. The more lives I saw transformed, the more convinced I became that homeopathy had the potential to help far more people than I could ever reach through my clinic alone.

“We have more doctors, more healthcare, and more medical advancements than ever before, yet we are the sickest we’ve ever been.”
In 1989, I stepped away from full-time practice and founded King Bio, an FDA-registered manufacturing facility dedicated to researching and producing advanced homeopathic medicines. It was there that I developed my own pure water base homeopathic formulas, designed to provide the highest level of purity without the traditional sugar or alcohol base found in most homeopathic medicines. More than 35 years later, these same formulas continue to be manufactured in our FDA-registered facility and are now known as Dr. King’s Natural Medicines and Dr. King’s Natural Pet.
The Southern Appalachian Mountains became the perfect place to continue my life’s work. Drawn by the region’s extraordinary biodiversity, I saw an opportunity to explore the healing potential found in nature. The rich environment of Western North Carolina has enabled us to research and develop a wide variety of wild, nutrient-rich, and medicinal fruits, vegetables, and herbs. My passion for natural health also led me to begin raising bison as a healthier source of meat, eventually establishing Dr. King’s Carolina Bison. Today, our mission is to promote healthier lifestyles through regenerative agriculture, all-natural meats, and the incredible superfood that is bison.

Today
Modern medicine has made incredible advancements, especially in emergency care. However, we have more doctors, more healthcare, and more medical advancements than ever before, yet we are the sickest we’ve ever been. After more than 45 years of clinical practice, I have seen in both my own life and the lives of my patients that true health requires more than simply treating symptoms. The human body is designed to heal, and we must treat it that way. I believe one of the greatest opportunities in healthcare today is not just helping people manage illness but helping people overcome it.
That is why my mission has never been to simply sell products, but to help people reach their full personal potential by empowering them with the knowledge to take control of their health. In Latin, the word doctor means “to teach,” and I believe education is one of the greatest missing pieces in healthcare today. That is why, through my Give Back Pledge, I freely share my home-healing protocols and techniques, eBooks, book The Healing Revolution, podcast, health assessments, and other educational resources. I invite you to explore these resources and discover the principles, practices, and natural approaches that have transformed the lives of my patients for more than 45 years.
